The Farmwood Collection®
of Aged Wood Furniture

Our tables and furniture are constructed using the same proven construction methods of traditional craftsmen, with the notable exception that many of the raw material in the Farmwood Collection® is hand-selected antique barn wood, salvaged from old barns and outbuildings from in and around Virginia's Shenandoah Valley. The character of aged wood is unmatched in new wood, and because it's recycled, it's a perfect green alternative! All of our building materials have been thoroughly kiln-dried to ensure structural stability and pest-free lumber.

Pinned bread board ends help to keep the table top flat and allow for seasonal expansion and contraction of the boards.

A glued mortise-&-tenon joint base with heart pine pins as fasteners is available, as well as a base that can be quickly disassembled for easy shipping and moving. A dowelled top that rides on fasteners also allows for expansion without warping or cracking.

Dovetailed drawers, solid-timber legs, and grain-matched boards make high-quality furniture with smooth joints and high stability - superior to furniture made using more modern methods.

All visible surfaces are hand planed and custom stained and finished with a conversion varnish. Each table is then permanently identified as a family heirloom, with the name of the original owner and the date of construction on the underside of the table's top.

Drawers
All-wood sides and backs with veneer bottoms are used to create a durable drawer that is less likely to warp over time, or with changes in humidity. This construction also produces a smoother, more consistent drawer function. Each drawer bottom is stained and sealed, creating a smooth interior that is less likely to snap or damage clothing.

Dovetail construction is featured in each drawer to deliver a durable drawer box that will remain solid over time.

Finishing
An extensive multi-step finish process gives each piece of furniture depth, accentuating the wood grain pattern and the natural aged beauty.

Hardware
A variety of solid metal hardware is available to beautifully complement the aged wood.

Bring home a piece of history for your home, and for your family, for generations to come.
